Message from the Upazila Executive Officer

I welcome this great initiative of the present government to bring information services to the doorsteps of the people. The importance of information in improving the quality of life and livelihood of the people is immense and this web portal will play an important role in this regard. This web portal has been published in Bengali to make it easier to understand. Through this public web portal, people will get a complete idea about agriculture, health, education, law and human rights, distribution, employment and above all development activities of the upazila (TR, Kabikha, Kabita, ADB) etc. and will be able to receive services as per the demand. Gowainghat Upazila is rich in forest, mineral and fishery resources and a land of natural beauty. The magnificent view of Khasia and Jaintia hills, the stone quarries of Jaflong and Bichnakandi and the captivating beauty of the Jaflong tea garden, the rows upon rows of stones attract the tourists again and again. Many people of this upazila have been living in different countries of the world and have been playing a special role in the economy of the country by sending a lot of foreign currency. Expatriates will also be able to receive services directly through this web portal. I also believe that this web portal will play an important role in spreading the history, heritage and culture of Bangladesh to the world and enhancing the skills of the administration officials as well as ensuring the transparency and accountability of all.
